R&D Manager
One of our clients which is young, yet successful company
is seeking to hire an experienced, talented and enthusiastic
“hands-on” technical talent to lead and take charge of
the R&D team in developing internal tools and hi capacity
web product.
Responsibilities include:
• Hiring, building, forming and managing a top notch R&D team, including:
• Efficient development lifecycle
• Software design and architecture
• Code review
• QA process
• Formalizing and building all required environments to support the process.
• Work closely with internal customer and external advisors (eg GUI experts)
to produce top quality solutions. High involvement in product definition.
• Development and deployment of the product and providing support.
• Lead evaluation processes to benchmark and select off-the-shelf technologies.
• Responsibility for release plan.
• As a manager you are expected to be "hands on" and busy with programming
part of your time.
Experience:
• R&D Team leader – a must
• BSc Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Candidate must have experience in developing complex web applications
in a robust and scalable way.
• In-depth knowledge of RDBMSs, specifically MySQL
• knowledge of the Linux operating system
• Experience working in Agile methodology - a strong plus
• Language proficiency : PHP or Python
• Managing cloud servers
• Familiarity with digital advertising – a plus
Organizational
Reporting to VP Product and Strategy
Other requirements [internal use only]:
• High service orientation
• Proven successful recruitment track record
• Should be able to manage R&D as a standalone service unit,
with a mixture of capabilities/talents
• Problem solving attitude, self motivation
• Motivation to understand and support the business aspect
